Children often have difficulty sitting through an entire church service. This makes church uncomfortable for both parents and children. As a result, our Christian Education committee has assembled a team of adults to help your children learn about church without having to sit through the service. This allows both you and your children to enjoy and learn from the worship service. During the worship service, we offer the following options:
Rovers: Children 18 months to 3 years old: Children enjoy a time of structured activities in the toddler room during the entire worship service. Activities include music, snacks, and play.
Transformers: Children 4 and 5 years old: In this class, children are led in age-appropriate Bible lessons. Children are encouraged to worship with their parents until they are dismissed to go to Children’s Church. The class meets in the room across from the nursery.
Children’s Church: Children in Kindergarten through third grade: We encourage children to worship with their parents until they are dismissed for Children’s Church. This class includes a Bible lesson and a craft. This class meets upstairs.
Fourth Grade: We encourage them to start participating with the parents in worship. To help with the transition we offer free activity sheets which can be found on the book case in the Heritage Room, just outside the sanctuary.
Children who are in the Transformers or Children’s Church classes begin the service in the sanctuary. They remain until the children’s time. After the Children’s time, they are dismissed to go to their class.
