You would fit in just fine. There are a lot of people like you in our church, and they are excited because the Bible is coming alive for them. Everything at church is done in such a way that everyone can understand, and no one is embarrassed.
There is a great deal of variety among Baptist churches. Most agree that new life comes through receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. One way of sharing with others what Jesus has done in our lives is through the symbolic act of baptism.
Your need for baptism is between you and God. We believe that those who have found a new faith in Christ may be led by God to proclaim that faith through baptism. No one is forced.
Some people dress up, while others come in modest casual clothes. Whatever you decide to wear, you will feel comfortable.
Everyone who visits is given the option to sign a registration card. If you fill one out, we will try to follow up with you to answer any questions you might have. If you do not wish to be contacted, please feel free to omit filling out the card.
We encourage our visitors not to feel obligated to contribute to the offering plate when it passes. You are our guest; we want you to just sit back and enjoy the worship service.
We’re proud to say that there is no “typical” First Baptst person. Ours is a diverse group with a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic or religious backgrounds.
Our worship includes both contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns. We have a praise team that leads the contemporary songs with guitars, drums, and piano. Our traditional hymns are sung with organ and piano. Special music ranges from choir cantatas to solo instruments and vocalists of many types. The sermon is easy to understand and practical. The mood is informal with a sense of God’s presence.
