Puerto Rico Missions Trip Recap
July 29th - August 4th 2023
Our team of 10 volunteers from our church, sponsored by the American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), traveled to Puerto Rico. Our week was filled with meaningful activities: on Day 1, we painted several rooms and resurfaced the roof of the host church, Primera Iglesia Bautista DeSabanallkana. Days 2 and 3 were dedicated to painting the entire exterior of an elderly couple’s home. On Day 4, we visited the housing for the elderly in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, spending a full day socializing with seniors, sharing lunch, singing, and praying. Day 5 involved cleaning the church at a homeless shelter location in downtown Puerto Rico, followed by a half-day of relaxation at the local beach. It was a rewarding and fun experience for everyone involved.
